Lou Brissie was a southpaw who pitched from 1947-53 for the Philadelphia Athletics and Cleveland Indians. A shell explosion while serving duty in the US Army caused him to wear a heavy brace on his left leg when pitching. This may have led to his shortened career. Offered here is a superior example of his '49 Bowman card in Mint condition. This is one of only 5 graded mint 9 by PSA, and with none ever graded any higher.
