With an 84-70 record, the 1948 Philadelphia Athletics were a solid but not spectacular team, led by Hank Majeski’s 120 RBI, .310 batting average at the plate and Dick Fowler’s 15 wins on the mound. But when it comes to team signed baseballs, if you add coaches Connie Mack, Al Simmons, and Dave Keefe, you’ve got yourself a rare and spectacular piece of baseball memorabilia! Presented is a 1948 Philadelphia Athletics team signed Official American League ball with 25 signatures in all, no clubhouse or secretarial signings, including vivid and breathtaking autographs of Hall of Famers Connie Mack and Al Simmons boldly stroked on the sweet spot. While the OAL stamp is visible but faded, the signatures remain strong and clearly legible, as Mack and Simmons lead the charge with “8-9” quality. Also included are: Keefe, White, Majeski, DeMars, Savage, Binks, Harris, Joost, York, McCosky, Franks, Marchildon, Suder, Webb, Rosar, Chapman, Fowler, Valo, Fain, Dietrich, McCahan, and Kellner. PSA/DNA Authenticated.
