Issued by Leaf Gum Co. of Chicago in 1948, the featured set was the first colorized release of Baseball cards on a national basis after WWII. As an inaugural release the Leaf set featured may players that were not featured in rival Bowman's inaugural set. One of those players that Leaf featured was New York Yankee superstar Joe DiMaggio who catapulted the set commanding the pole position with the first card. Although the card featured is in lower grade it does feature deep bold color as well as a nearly perfectly centered central image.
