Billy "The Bull" Johnson hailed from Augusta, Georgia where he was discovered by the NY Yankees. He played nearly a thousand games for New York at the hot corner, and earned 4 World Series Championship rings as a result. He was eventually traded to St. Louis to create a job opening for Gil McDougald. We offer a prime specimen of his '48 Bowman ball card that has been graded 92 NM/MT+ 8.5 by SGC. Stupendous corners, and near perfect framing highlight Johnson's throwing motion on yet, another terrific Bowman card offered in this auction.
