As the National League's choice for MVP in 1947, Bob Elliott earned the right to be featured on the #1 card of Bowman's first baseball card set. During that season, he batted .317 with 22 HR's, and 113 RBI's. The seven time All-Star was nicknamed "Mr Team" as he usually led his teams' in all offensive categories. Over 65 years ago, Bowman created this most stunning example of his image. Four 90 degree angles frame the portrait of Elliott on the front, and jet black printing push to get you to try the three different flavors of the Blony Bubble Gum on the back. The centering is the most apparent dispute to a higher assessment with an evident favoring of the left edge. Still, a really nice SGC 88 NM/MT card, and a welcome start to any serious '48 Bowman collection.
