Sheldon Jones was a right-handed pitcher who played for eight seasons for the NY Giants, Boston Braves, and Chicago Cubs. He was nicknamed "Available" because of his durability as both a starter and reliever. In 1948 alone, he started 21 games, while still having enough gas in the tank, to appear in another 34 games of relief. This very difficult '48 Bowman short-print is being made available in this catalog for your perusing. His image is framed as perfectly possible, and the original factory cut lends to four spearheaded points which allowed it to be dealt the well deserved SGC grade of 96 Mint 9.
