Jack Lohrke was a third baseman for 7 seasons for the NY Giants, and Philadelphia Phillies. He earned his nickname "Lucky" when at the last minute during a military mission, he gave up his plane seat to a higher ranking military personnel, and as you've probably already guessed, the plane crashed killing everyone on board. Offered here is a brilliant specimen of his short-printed '48 Bowman card. A clear & precise photo exist that lend one to believe that it might be a small photograph, rather than a factory produced baseball card. Centering rides a little heavy to the left & bottom borders, but still falls within range of the specifications of it's deserving SGC 88 NM/MT grade. Perhaps, you could be the "Lucky" winner?
