One of the most important squads in the history of the game, the 1947 Brooklyn Dodgers took the field and broke baseball's unwritten rule by including first baseman Jackie Robinson in its lineup. Despite a constant backlash of criticism and threats in virtually every city in which they played, even their hometown Brooklyn, the Dodgers captured the NL pennant and took the Yankees to seven games in the World Series. The featured ball is signed by 21 members of the squad, including the rookie Jackie Robinson, along with other key signatures that include Pee Wee Reese, Pete Reiser, and manager Burt Shotton, who shares the sweet spot with Jackie. Many of the signatures show fading but the Robinson signature is legible. Full LOA from JSA.
