Here's a group of six proofs that provide an interesting take on the production process of the set. These 1941 Play Ball prototypes have the image used for the front of the card, brighter and with bolder color than you see on the finished product, with each card mounted to their original thick black paper backing. These are the earliest full-color 1941 Play Ball cards ever printed. Included are Wally Moses, Pinky Higgins, Al Brancato, “Soupy” Campbell, Elden Auker & Rollie Hemsley.
