Graded NM/MT 88(8) by SGC. Presented is the One and Only Only example of this exceptionally delicate card of the great Joe DiMaggio that has been graded NM/MT 8 by either SGC or PSA with no examples that have been graded higher. Issued at the start of the 1936 season along with the R312 over sized release comes this premium from Goudey Gum Company that in all reality constitutes the very first card of Joe issued by an American manufacturer (there was a 1936 World Wide issue released in Canada) thus making a terrific argument that it is in fact the rookie card of Hall Of Famer Joe DiMaggio (I know, I know...but the ZeeNut releases were a minor league issue) Absolutely perfectly centered with pure white borders that contain a scintillating image of the perfect ballplayer. Slightly muted pastel colors offer in sincere backdrop for the amazing Yankee to stand against featuring the road gray uniform of the Bronx Bombers presented in a striking well registered image. Each of the four corners magnificently sharp with only the lower left angle showing a slight fuzz at the extreme tip of the corner. The reverse sports a blank backed canvas that shows no staining or irregularities. A stunning example of a exceptionally scarce issue offered in majestic NM/MT condition.
