As a four-time home run champion and career .325 hitter, "Double X" was one of the premier ballplayers of his era if not all of baseball history. While his cards always demand a premium, one issue that has eluded high-grade collectors is the under-appreciated 1933 Tattoo Orbit issue. This offering is one of only 6 cards to achieve NM/MT PSA 8 status and none have graded higher, not surprising since only 3 specimens from the entire series have graded PSA 9. Perfectly centered with well defined registration and clean surfaces, this card shows virtually no imperfections to the naked eye. The reverse is equally superior and plainly offers Foxx's basic bio in dark black ink. An elite card of an elite player!
