Graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. With only six examples graded at tiers above the offered example the new owner shall be able to count themselves among the elite. A close inspection of the offered pasteboard reveals even to the most ardent of condition conscious enthusiasts that this isn’t your normal NM/MT specimen but one that should be given extreme reverence as it approaches the limits of its assessment. Exceptionally well centered with four upper shelf points of distinction that have acted as shields of preservation over the years apparently warranting of unwanted wear and abuse. Each of the exceptionally sharp corners appears as though it did when the spectacular collectible first was released from it wax pack confinement. The color of this #92 Gehrig is uncharacteristically bright and vivid to the point where the “Iron Horse” is precisely defined through the detail of his Yankee pinstripes as well as the peachy flesh tones of his face. The robins egg blue background as well as the red of the Big League banner at the bottom lifts this card to the extraordinary level. The reverse is pleasingly printed and void of any problematic areas of staining. A stellar card of an immortal of the game offered in exceptionally high end NM/MT condition.
