This is a 1933 Goudey example of Lou Gehrig's famous #92 issue that has been recently graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. Fairly accurately centered with a minor inclination for the bottom border with NM/MT corners between NM/MT+ edges around a noticeably bold and accurate MINT image against a predominantly clean NM/MT backdrop. The reverse is centered and equally as clean as the obverse, with a noticeably bold print impression, also mirrored on the front, particularly in the fully saturated black of Lou's socks as well as in the fine details of his facial features. In fact, the registration in the area of Lou's facial features deserves particular mention, as it appears thoroughly accurate enough to produce a countenance dominated by an intense, life-like focus, well-known to Lou's fans and teammates, which could just as easily turn into one of his famous, dimpled smiles, particularly after a long and triumphant battle at the plate. Very often, subtle shifts in the registration of the various colors composing the '33 Goudey issue produce blurred and shadowed features throughout Gehrig's face, but not so on this fine PSA 8 NM/MT example. Own your piece of the "Iron Horse" with a strong bid on this perennial favorite and industry icon, long considered one of the most significant sportscards in the hobby.
