When it comes to the four different Babe Ruth cards that are featured in the 1933 Goudey series, collectors vary on which is their favorite, but one thing that is universal is that with each step up the PSA grading ladder there's a hefty price increase, jumping hundreds and often thousands of dollars. So the savvy collector looking for value is going to like this offering, a specimen that has excellent color, precise registration, and accurate enough centering to present well beyond what is typically expected of a PSA 5 card. While the perimeter might be accurately graded to PSA specifications, the light rounding is even and not overly obtrusive with the focal point landing square on the sharp likeness of "The Bambino" and the calming lime-green backdrop that supports him. The Goudey Ruth cards with red and yellow backgrounds are tougher to find in mid to upper grade condition but one of the characteristics in favor of the "green Ruth" is that it does not attract stray print like the yellow one and doesn't have an overload of bleed-through on the reverse like the red one with this example exhibiting just a touch of the latter from the nameplate. A solid, middle grade Ruth card that will be the highlight of many collections!
