Graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. The current “population report” by PSA reveals that a mere four examples of the offered card have achieved a higher grading tier than the offered pasteboard of Babe Ruth. Goudey Gum Company unveiled the enormous offering of Big League Chewing Gum cards in the spring of 1933 with the absolute assurance of instant success! Success, you say? We’ll of course the set contained four cards of the greatest player in the history of the game, and if The Babe couldn’t sell gum then nobody could! Issued as the only “full body” pose within the series, card #144 enjoyed an instant level of reverence within the youth of America for capturing the Bambino in full swing! The offered example boasts a cleanliness of the image not usually encountered, with bright white borders and a superior amount of colorful hues contained within the image. The four corners are fully mindful of PSA’s stringent boundaries of the NM/MT grade with the lower left point showing a minor wisp of clean wear at the very tip of the corner. The centering is astute to the opined level of condition while the surface gleams under a freshness of its preservation. The reverse is properly placed with attention paid to its printed bio. A stellar example provided in satisfying NM/MT condition.
