The only one of the four 1933 Goudey Babe Ruth cards that features "The Bambino" in a full-body pose, many advanced collectors also gravitate toward "#144 Ruth" as being their favorite of the quartet for its stunning array of color, mixing red, green, brown, white, yellow and blue pigments together in a way not matched by the "portrait" Ruth cards. The featured specimen, a blazing PSA 8 beauty that will no doubt be one of the star attractions in a world-class collection, mildly favors the southeast corner but is well-compensated by four upper-level endpoints that reach slightly above NM/MT specifications. The front surface is devoid of any unwelcome blemishes, allowing the spectrum of pack-fresh colors to come through with uninterrupted radiance, while the reverse is well-printed, delivering a strong green-inked bio without any objectionable hindrances. It's understandable for any collector to be judicious when considering such an acquisition, but rest assured, this is an appealing example that represents the PSA 8 grade well!
