While the Boston, Massachusetts based Delong Gum Company, in hindsight, did not have the resources to successfully challenge Goudey in the bubble gum market, their 24-card baseball set has become one of the most coveted pre-war collections ever produced. Over 60% of the set, 15 of the 24 cards to be exact, features a Hall of Famer with "The Iron Horse" Lou Gehrig serving as the cornerstone of the series. This freshly evaluated specimen is tempered in grade by some uneven discoloration on the reverse, which is completely forgivable once you get a look at the front surface. Well-centered, especially for the issue, this specimen features pack-fresh yellow, blue, green and red pigments that are seldom found on examples even a grade or two higher. Even the corners and edges appear to qualify for NM to NM+ status. Quite simply, you won't find a fresher looking Delong Lou Gehrig card in this grade!
