It was October 1, 1932, when the Yankees met the Cubs at Wrigley Field for Game 3 of the World Series. Babe Ruth, having already clubbed a homer in the opening frame, stepped up against Cubs hurler Charlie Root, and awaiting an 0-2 pitch, pointed toward the outfield and called his shot, belting another home run. The "called shot" is one of the great stories in baseball history, and you can recount it firsthand with this 1932 World Series Program from that game. In overall VG condition with a crease running down the center, what makes this gem so surreal is the centerfold scorecard has been dated "10/1/32" and scored to show the events of the game, including Ruth's famous HR, marked in the 5th inning as it happened (Gehrig followed Ruth with a HR, making it back to back homers). An amazing piece of baseball history!
