Probably the most elusive of all Babe Ruth cards, the 1930 Baguer Chocolate issue of "The Bambino" has made the trip to PSA headquarters just 11 times, and this example stands atop the mountain as the only PSA 7 ever graded with none higher. Two years removed from his unprecedented 60-homer season with the "Murderer's Row" Yankees, Ruth continued his superiority over the American league by extending his home run crown streak to four with totals of 55 and 46 respectively, and he'd go two more years after that as home run champ until his streak was ended in 1933, his 41 round-trippers placing second to Jimmie Foxx. Without a mainstream set in the United States, collectors had to turn to alternate sources and found this diminutive piece from Cuban chocolatier Baguer, part of a 90-card collection that also features Lou Gehrig, Rogers Hornsby, Walter Johnson and Foxx. The entire series has only seen a total of five PSA 7 grades and one PSA 8, making this not only the finest Ruth card but one of the strongest Baguer Chocolate cards ever graded. The centering is outstanding for the series while the image of Ruth is sharp and the endpoints are of strong NM quality. The red inked "Chocolate BAGUER El Mas popular" on the reverse is extremely bright. A fantastic example for any elite Ruth collector.
