Presenting this historically important photo, entitled "Landis 'Passes Buck' in Black Sox Suit". Reverse "bio" reads in part "The eyes of the baseball world were diverted to a Milwaukee court, Nov. 3rd, when K.M. Landis, the gray haired commissioner and grand mogul of baseball, testified in a hearing of the famous Black Sox suit, as a result of a case brought against him by Oscar (Happy) Felsch and Joe Jackson, suspended White Sox players, for second-place money alleged to be due them from the 1919 World Series." The 6 1/2" x 8 1/2" photo depicts the hard-nosed Landis, various lawyers for both sides and "Shoeless" Joe Jackson in the background. A Type I - 1st generation image that rates EX/EX-MT condition overall.
