Just like the 1916 Sporting News card series from a few years earlier, the 1921 E121 American Caramel collection spawned different ad back variations of businesses large and small, the most elusive of all being a local store in Sioux Falls, South Dakota called Queen City Cigar. To date, PSA has never graded a Queen City Cigar Zach Wheat and SGC has evaluated just two (the other is also SGC 40 VG 3). In fact, only 3 examples of any Queen City Cigar card have been graded by PSA and SGC combined over the past six years. The grade seems overly conservative as the extremely well-centered rarity offers very sharp corners that boast above-grade traits. An overlay of stray print dust covers the front and back surface, technically lowering the overall assessment but actually adding to the character of the card and making it even more attractive. Whether you're a type collector or looking to add a very rare specimen of a Hall of Famer to your stable, here's an opportunity you may not get for a very long time.
