Graded MINT 96(9) by SGC. Presented is 1 of just 2 copies graded by SGC that has been assessed a MINT 96 (9) grade. Marquard was born in Cleveland, OH, and was compared to Rube Wadell in the minor leagues, and the nickname of "Rube" stuck, which was uncommon for a city kid as "Rube" was a moniker normally associated with a rural upbringing. Expertly centered from left to right if looking at the card in its horizontal fashion. Each of the corners appears as though the card was just removed from a presentation grouping this morning as the offered card most assuredly never saw the inside of a Cracker Jack box, as evidenced by its lack of caramel staining. The bright boldly-hued red surrounding the subject jumps from the card, while the spot-on registration and imagery create a feast for the eyes, and the reverse is well-struck and devoid of any pitfalls. A superior specimen made available in attention-stirring MINT condition.
