Graded AUTHENTIC by SGC, this extremely rare advertisement depicting the great Napoleon Lajoie hails from a ten-card set issued by The Boston Garter Company, distributed one per box of a dozen garters. This 3-7/8" x 6-1/8" sepia toned, high quality image exhibits some creasing around its white-bordered perimeter and shows a scant few surface scuffs and imperfections on the front. A few small stains are visible primarily on the checklist style reverse, which is just slightly off-center and better than most examples encountered. What we are offering is a tremendous example from a very important issue that will ultimately make a quality addition to the most advanced pre-war collection or portfolio.
