After helping Connie Mack's powerhouse Philadelphia A's to World Series titles in 1910, 1911, and 1913, Frank "Home Run" Baker, the league's leading home run hitter from 1911 to 1914, stood atop the baseball world in 1914, making his 1914 Cracker Jack issue one of the most coveted picture cards from sea to shining sea. Indeed, few players at the time could inspire more awe when fans of the game, both young and old, pulled his likeness from a package of Cracker Jack popcorn. Whoever was lucky enough to pull the offered example must surely have recognized something special in its spotlessness, perhaps tucking it away into a book or into some other form of protection, because it is unlike almost every other example in existence. Not only does Baker's image appear to be near perfectly printed, but there isn't a single dot of caramel staining to be found anywhere throughout either surface, nor is there really any excessive print larger than a single fleck of dust. Both bottom corners appear MINT, while both top corners range from NM to NM/MT, and the edges between them from MINT to GEM MINT. A potentially once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to acquire one of the single most significant "Home Run" Baker cards ever graded. Only one single copy has ever been assessed at the same lofty grading tier, and none have ever graded higher (and almost certainly never will). Very strongly recommended.
