Graded NM/MT 8 by PSA. Maranville was hung with the moniker "Rabbit" because of his diminutive size (5'5") and his speed. Long considered one of the clown princes of Baseball, Maranville is pictured on this exceptionally fragile 1914 Cracker Jack collectible as the clean-up hitter for the 1914 miracle Braves. Of the 13 copies of this card that PSA has assessed, the offered example boasts as being the One And Only copy that has been graded NM/MT 8 with none graded higher. A perfectly registered image hails the stature-challenged HOFer who is sporting the steel gray road Braves uniform and employing a "chocked up" batting grip, all set against the blood red background synonymous with the caramel coated confectionery release. Each of the corners appears as though it is a strong NM/MT point with many attributes of corners of a superior grade. The centering is exceptional with the opaque white borders appearing as though they are the frame of a masterpiece. The reverse is a pleasing stain-free observance that completes the astounding aesthetics of this charming collectible.
