One of the early legends in the pugilistic arts and a pioneer for black athletes in sports, boxing champion Jack Johnson shows off his form on this vividly pigmented card from the 1912 T227 Champions series. "The Galveston Giant" is surrounded by a deep burnt orange-yellow backdrop that has several light creases but still projects better than the SGC 35 GOOD+ 2.5 grade. An important card for any boxing collector.
