Measuring nearly 5" x 7" in size, this incredible Type I photograph captures Joe Jackson during his days with the Cleveland Indians (1910-1915). The 1st generation period photo depicts Jackson with his war clubs on his shoulder as he seemingly sizes up an opposing pitcher. The item presents at the EX/MT level, although there are a few creases present upon close scrutiny, none of which hinder the overwhelming eye appeal of the image. Upon further examination, one can't help but notice the clarity and fine details of this moment in time, captured with precision by Louis Van Oeyen, whose passion for baseball is evident upon viewing this uncanny depiction of "Shoeless" Joe Jackson. On the reverse, editorial markings (in pen and pencil) are accompanied by a vintage "L. VAN OEYEN" stamp consistent with the period it was developed. One of the greatest ball players of all-time, yet a tragic figure, Jackson-related cards and memorabilia are among the most sought-after items in the sports collectible community and consistently command the attention of advanced hobbyists world wide. This gorgeous and very significant Type I - 1st generation photograph is one of the finest and most unique that we've ever handled. Strongly recommended.
