"Plank was not the fastest, not the trickiest, nor the possessor of the most stuff ... he was just the greatest" -- Eddie Collins. Plank's 326 victories ranks third all-time for left-handed pitchers behind only Warren Spahn and Steve Carlton. Offered is one of just 2 copies of this amazingly difficult card that has been graded NM/MT 8 by PSA with none having been graded higher! T204 Ramlys are one of, if not the most beautiful and alluring issues in the hobby and present much more like fine antiquities than mere baseball cards, printed with an exceptionally fragile gold-leafed Victorian assemblage that houses a delicate black and white image of the featured ballplayer. The offered prize features the aforementioned well-defined and precisely focused image of its Hall Of Fame subject that was used on his immensely rare and defining T206 card. The collectible is near perfectly centered from left to right as well as top to bottom with borders that seemingly act as picture frames to fine art. The precision of the applied gold leafing is done with immeasurable care as just the very tips of three of the extensions have been ever so slightly disturbed by the wear of time. The surface is ablaze with the glow of the gold, delicately fashioned in an ornate design that captures any hobbyist's attention. The reverse of this tobacco keepsake features a stark opaque white palate with a deeply stamped advertisement for Ramly Turkish Cigarettes that offers an equally unblemished appearance befitting of its grand assessment. A card offered for those purveyors of the finest in truly astounding and completely satisfying strict NM/MT or better condition.
