Many of the legendary Hall of Famers that are in the T206 series appear multiple times with different variations or poses. Christy Mathewson is no exception, and while each example has a huge following in its camp, virtually all would agree that his "portrait" card like the PSA 6 example featured here is a stone-cold stunner. The clean yellow and orange backdrop immediately demands the eye's attention, but the extreme sharpness of the EX/MT quality endpoints and outstanding centering for the issue immediately take precedence in the mind of the advanced collector. The Piedmont reverse is equally as impressive, largely clean and free from any significant blemishes. A grade this high for an issue this important is admirable, and rest assured, this beauty earns all of the accolades it has received.
