Graded EX/MT 6 by PSA. On August 2, 1907, a young man later described by Frank Graham as “beyond doubt, the greatest pitcher that ever scuffed a rubber with his spikes” made his big-league debut for the Washington Senators, losing a 3-2 decision to the pennant-bound Detroit Tigers. The great Ty Cobb admitted his fastball “made me flinch” and “hissed with danger.” Offered is the one and only example that has been graded EX/MT 6 featuring an El Principe De Gales advertising reverse with no examples having been graded at a higher level. Ever so slight touches to the very advances of the four corners as well as an image of the great hurler that features an abundance of lifelike flesh tones set upon a canary yellow background. The centering is astute to the opined grade level from left to right while the top to bottom centering slightly favors the bottom edge. A terrifically difficult card to find offered with the reverse advertising.
