It's pretty amazing that a T206 card can still exist in MINT condition. In fact, taking into account all of the crude production problems that existed in the early 20th Century, a large percentage of tobacco cards were disqualified from MINT consideration even before they were even unearthed from the cigarette pack. Records show that only one out of every 55,000 T206 submissions have yielded a specimen spectacular enough to be called MINT, making the featured item a truly extraordinary pasteboard worthy of a world-class collection. Perfectly centered with fresh, like-new color and four amazing corners and edges that show only the slightest traces of wear, presented is an SGC 96 MINT 9 example of infamous baseball great Hal Chase, who was considered the greatest first baseman in the game for his time but was unceremoniously banned for alleged gambling and game fixing. The Piedmont reverse is equally as factory fresh, positioned slightly to the right of center and perhaps the only discernible flaw of this unique pasteboard. A remarkable specimen for sure!
