Advanced T206 collectors will immediately recognize the offered T206 treasure as an exceptional scarcity, quite possibly one of the top one hundred T206 cards on record. Not only is the offered Addie Joss "Pitching" variation one of the finest T206 Joss's in existence, surpassed by only a single MINT 9 example from the overstuffed "Unknown Back" population database at PSA, but it features the scarce "El Principe de Gales" back, a delightful red ink advertisement for "Cork Tip Havana Cigarettes" found on only a small fraction of surviving T206s. SGC has graded nearly 700 Principe de Gales examples, and this perfectly centered razor is the single highest specimen on record, the one and only example from the entire set in SGC's NM/MT+ 8.5 column, with none higher. And if this isn't enough, then consider PSA's pop report: of the 400 Principe examples graded since PSA started distinguishing backs, not a single example above NM/MT has yet to surface. In short, the presented T206 treasure may be the single finest Principe de Gales example in existence, and it just so happens to feature the "King of the Pitchers," the all time career leader in WHIP (.9678), the commander of the second best all-time ERA (1.89), "The Human Hairpin," the tragic and immortal, Addie Joss.
