Presented is an extremely impressive near-complete set (119 of 120) of E90-1 American Caramel cards, all graded and encapsulated by Sportscard Guaranty Corp, the New Jersey based company who has firmly established itself as a leader in card authentication and grading. Included is every Hall of Famer, rare card, and variation that make this particular issue one of the most challenging and tough to assemble of all caramel card sets. In fact, not one card offered here is ranked below an SGC 40, with a total of 34 cards in the set that are the highest graded examples ever encapsulated by SGC, the only missing card being that of Joe Jackson. This set is rated as the number 3 set on the "SGC Set Registry" with the average SGC grade being 55.24 (The average weighted set score, 52.91). The E90-1 set is widely considered by card enthusiasts as the most important of all early candy and caramel card sets, just as the T206 White Border set is universally recognized as the most important early tobacco card set. Comparatively, one must consider that due to the fact that these candy/caramel cards were targeted by kids, who played with their cards, as opposed to adults who were more apt to preserve the collectible contents of their purchased tobacco products, may very well contribute to the relative scarcity between the two juggernaut issues. It should also be noted that upon close examination of all subjects residing within this virtuous accumulation, that special attention was paid to finding cards with superior aesthetic qualities such as centering, color, and exemplars free from staining. This virtual complete set must have been a painstaking effort assembled over a very long period of time and represents a monumental card collecting achievement.
