Graded VG/EX 4 by PSA. Offered is a stunning rendition of the all-important E102 set of 25 anonymously issued caramel card of Tyrus Raymond Cobb that many hobbyists consider to be Cobb's first appearance on a traditional baseball card not being in postcard form. Issued in 1908, the featured collectible presents as a mere dream with the fine batsman clad in the road grays of the Detroit Tigers, shown against a fiery yellow background presenting the young ballplayer as a hero of the diamond. The surface is replete with a crease-free presentation highlighted by a smooth field of glistening sheen that attracts the attention of onlookers. The perimeter of the card offers smooth edges with no apparent notching to obstruct the enthusiast. Each of the four corners appear rounded to a moderate level with ever so slight layering apparent at the upper left corner. The centering, although askew, acts as a perfect frame from left to right, and although cut at an angular appearance has both the top an bottom borders in an orchestrating rendition. The reverse is a stain-free palate with a well-imaged list of subjects from the scarce issue and matches the appearance of the obverse. An opportunity to acquire a card that is widely considered to be Ty Cobb's rookie pasteboard in enchanting and pleasing VG/EX condition.
