One of the more interesting items from the late 19th Century, only about 20-30 of these 1888 Sporting Times Cigar New York Giants Team cards are known to exist, all part of a single find with each showing water damage and a financial ledger with date stamp on the back. The production of this card was based on a shot taken by renowned photographer Joseph Hall, and while the water damage shows its effects around the perimeter, the image of the 1888 Giants is unharmed, and quite frankly, spectacular. Included are baseball legends Roger Connor, Buck Ewing, Tim Keefe, John Ward, Mickey Welsh and the rest of the Giants team, each identified at the bottom of the card.
