Presented is one of the endearing and illuminating issues of 19th century Baseball collectibles, the A16 designated Allen & Ginter World’s Champions Album issued in 1888. The album was available as a premium from Allen & Ginter for 50 coupons found in packs of Allen & Ginter cigarettes. The cover of this ornately designed Victorian fashioned lithography features Jack Dempsy and John Ward amongst a collage of sporting equipment. The album features 12 different pages all tied together by an ornate twine at three spots on the left hand side. The pages feature lithographs of all fifty of the cards from the set including all of the Baseball players highlighted by Anson, Kelly, Keefe, and Clarkson amongst others. The condition of the album is technically VG with several creases throughout as well the cover is loose and has the upper right corner clipped off, as well the cover displays some missing paper. The interior pages of the album especially the Baseball pages display at a level far superior to the stated overall condition with many of the pages rating NM or better.
