One of the most elusive issues of the 19th century, Kalamazoo Bats cards were issued by a Philadelphia tobacco company and have the look of an Old Judge card on steroids, identical in format but significantly larger. Few examples from the 61-card collection become available, but here's one with the subject being 1886 National League stolen base king Ed Andrews. Though graded PSA 1 (MK) due to extensive wear with paper loss and a rubber stamp on the reverse, the card still maintains a wonderfully sharp and bold image of the Philadelphia centerfielder. For such an extremely rare item, it's an attainable piece that will greatly enhance any type collection.
