Hall of Famer John Montgomery Ward was probably the first successful switch-hitter in baseball history and the subject of this magnificent 1887 Allen & Ginter card, graded SGC 7 NM. It's amazing to think this expertly pigmented wonder is over 130 years old and has survived in immaculate condition, but the strength of the endpoints and the clean surfaces certainly confirm it. The reverse shows no toning or age spotting at all. Not many collections can boast a NM example of this relic!
