After the 1886 season, Albert Spalding sold the rights to Hall of Famer Mike "King" Kelly to the Boston Beaneaters for a then-record $10,000. He became known as "$10,000 Kelly" as shown on this 1888-87 Old Judge card. The perimeter is impressive for its age and the central image of Kelly is far bolder than most surviving Old Judge cards. A wonderful addition for any 19th-century card collector.
